1. Try 1 new recipe each month.
Since moving out of my parent’s house 6 months ago, I’ve obviously had to become completely dependent on myself as far as making food. And I’ll admit, I haven’t eaten as healthy as I’d like to. I generally try and eat pretty balanced meals, but more often than not I’ve just been eating whatever’s easy and convenient. I’d like to try and experiment with more cooking and trying new foods, perhaps even buying a cook book or two. I’m quite the picky eater but in the recent months I’ve tried some new foods that I actually surprised myself and enjoyed a lot, so I really want to be more willing to try new things. If you have any vegetarian cookbook, recipe, or recipe apps you’d recommend, let me know!
2. Blog at least once a month.
In 2015 I was blogging very consistently for about 6 months and then dropped off the face of the earth it seemed. I would like to try and keep up with a more consistent blogging schedule this year and even if or when I disappear for a while, I’d like to post at least once a month still. Hopefully I’ll be able to maintain a weekly or bi-weekly schedule but I’m not putting too much pressure on myself for this goal. Blogging for me is less of me trying to make a business out of it now, and it’s just a hobby. I don’t want to stress myself out over it and I want to do it because I enjoy it!
3. Be more social.
I’m very introverted, I don’t have a large group of friends, and all of my friends live in different cities. So, because of this combination, I really don’t see people that often (besides at work or staying in with my roommate). I’d love to put forth more of an effort to spend time with my friends this year – either with them coming to visit me, or me going to their cities to see them.
4. Declutter my makeup collection.
I have way too much makeup that I don’t use. I can’t even use the excuse that “I’m a beauty blogger” because really – I don’t blog about beauty much anymore. Makeup is a passion of mine and it brings me so much joy, but I need to apply the philosophy “out with the old and in with the new” to my makeup collection, because for the past few years my philosophy has just been “in with the new; in with the new; in with the new; etc.” and not letting anything go! I might start up a blog or instagram sale page to sell my lightly used products too!
5. Try a capsule wardrobe.
It seemed like in 2015 so many bloggers I follow were trying out capsule wardrobes and I’m really intrigued by the idea! I would love to try it out even just for a month or two to see if I like it. I wouldn’t try an extremely condensed wardrobe – I would probably include around 40 items or so – but I like the idea of wearing clothing you already own and love, and not purchasing new pieces all the time.
What are your 2016 goals? Do you have any tips for me to help me achieve my goals?
