April Favourites 2015

I can't believe April is already over! This past month just flew right by! April was a good month for me though. I kept pretty busy and probably the most exciting thing for me was launching this new blog and website! If you know me from my previous blog, monthly favourites is something I did over there and I thought I'd continue doing it on this blog! It's always fun for me to gather my favourite products from the month and tell you why I like them! This month they're all beauty related picks but sometimes I'll include books, music, or other things I've been loving.

The first product is a rediscovery of mine. The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette has been in my collection for quite some time, but I found myself reaching for it almost daily this month. It pairs so well with other eye shadows and palettes and is full of essential neutral shades. If you wear eye shadow and haven't tried this palette yet, I'd highly suggest picking it up!

Next is another product from Urban Decay and it's the De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray. If you have combination or oily skin and are curious about setting sprays I'd really suggest giving this a go. I know, it seems kind of ridiculous to spend nearly $40 on a bottle of liquid to spray on your face (they do offer a mini size too!), but I can say I definitely notice a difference when I use this versus when I don't. I spray this 2-4 times after applying my moisturizer and before my primer or foundation, and again once my makeup is complete. It really holds everything in place all day and makes my skin refrain from getting shiny and oily! Usually when I use this I don't have to blot or powder my face throughout the day!

A new product to my collection, and a fast favourite, is the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Naked. It's a gorgeous matte nude lipstick that I think would suit so many skin tones. It's a browny pink nude that isn't too pale or too deep. The formula lasts really nicely on the lips and doesn't dry my lips out like some other matte formulas do. I really want to try more shades from this lipstick range! If you want to see how it looks on, I'm wearing it in this photo!

Something I've been using and loving every day since I got it at the beginning of the month is the Julep Lock Down Your Brows Iconic Brow Setting Gel. It's a clear brow gel that I comb throughout my brows after filling them in to set my brows in place. I love that the wand is super tiny so I can get a precise application and don't over apply. It also doesn't make my brows crunchy feeling like some brow gels tend to do, but it still holds them in place.

The mascara I've been reaching for most frequently this month is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I only have a sample size of this but I've really been enjoying it! It gives my lashes so much volume and length. The only down side to it is that after around 5-6 hours, it tends to smudge along my browbone/crease area of my eye since it isn't water resistant. I probably wouldn't pay the $30 for the full-size of this mascara, but I'd happily use another sample of it if I happen to get one again! If you're a fan of dramatic lashes I'd suggest checking this one out!

Last is the most beautiful neutral pink blush! This is Romantic Rose Powder Blush from Milani. It's such a gorgeous matte nude pink shade and the rose embossing in the powder is stunning. This blush pairs well with basically any makeup look and is really long wearing as well! It's such a great drugstore find!

What have been your favourite things this month? Anything you think I should check out in May?
