My Scrapbook | April 2015 ft. Messy Box
If you know me, you know that I love paper products, stationery, and crafting, so this year I decided to start a Project Life scrapbook. For those who aren't familiar with Project Life, it's a scrapbook system where you buy pocket page protectors (available in a bunch of different layouts) and you can fill the pockets with different photos and paper cards and other embellishments! I think this is an easier and less time consuming way to scrapbook since all you have to do at the very least is fill the pockets with paper and photos, the rest is up to you!
After getting my April Messy Box I was immediately inspired by the colours and items in the box and I knew I wanted to use it in my scrapbook! Here is the spread I created for April! I've been doing 1-2 spreads per month, and I'm really happy with how this month's spread turned out. In fact, it's my favourite spread of my whole scrapbook so far!
On my left page I started with the "SPRING" card, as well as a picture of me from the month and a calendar card. I made the calendar card in Adobe Illustrator and just printed it at home. The rest of the photos are from when I visited my friend Robyn for a weekend to celebrate her birthday! The photos include a picture of her and I, the restaurant we had dinner at, and a photo from a board game cafe we went to. I accented the page with the plastic heart and circle cut-outs from the Messy Box, as well as alphabet stickers, washi tape, and stamps!
On the second page in the spread I started by including a few of my Instagram photos from the month. I also put in a photo of my mom and I in matching outfits we tried on in a fitting room for fun and a picture of my mint converse because I thought the colour of my shoes went nicely with the other colours on the page! On the right side of the page I included a few photos from a day I spent with my friends Courtney and McKenna. We did a beauty swap that day, got our nails done, went shopping, and got food! I thought the quote at the bottom right from the Messy Box fit perfectly with those photos too!
I still have quite a few items left from my Messy Box and I can't wait to use more of them in future spreads, because I'm so happy with how this one turned out!
