Palm Leaf Nail Art (and Tutorial!)
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! With all the nice weather we've been having I decided I wanted to do some fun spring/summery nail art over the weekend.
I was recently watching a haul video Lily Melrose (aka one of my favourite bloggers) posted on her YouTube channel, and in that video she showed some press-on nails she got, which were what inspired this manicure! They're the Summer Lovin' nails from Elegant Touch. I instantly loved the design when I saw them in Lily's video, but since I'm not a fan of wearing press-on nails, I decided to give the design a try on my nails using a nail art brush and my own polishes!
If you want to know how I did this design, check out the pictorial below! The tools and polishes I used for this manicure are:
I started with a base coat and 2 coats of OPI's "Sorry I'm Fizzy Today". Then, using a nail striper brush, I painted on the "leaves" by layering lines of dark green, bright green, and white polishes on top of each other, letting each polish dry between layers. Then once it was dry, I applied a top coat! Although this manicure was a little bit time consuming (mostly just waiting for polishes to dry in between layers) it was actually quite easy to do! And if you like the design but don't feel like DIY-ing it, you can always buy the Elegant Touch press on nails they were inspired by!
Have you ever tried nail art? Where do you look for inspiration?
