May Favourites 2015

I'm so happy that it's finally June! I've been looking forward to this month for quite a while because in a couple of weeks I'll be going to Walt Disney World! But posts about that can wait, because today I'm going to share with you some of my favourite products from May. Throughout May I attempted a beauty no-buy after my Sephora VIB Sale Haul in April, and I think I did a pretty good job!

The first product I couldn't stop using in May was the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette. I picked this up during the Sephora sale in April and immediately knew I would love it since I'm such a fan of matte and neutral shadows. I love that this palette has some unique more red-toned neutral shadows that not a lot of other palettes have. All of the shades in this palette are beautifully pigmented and blend so nice together.

Another eye product I've been getting a fair bit of use out of lately is the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I've had a couple of samples of this mascara in my collection for quite some time but never really paid attention to them until this past month! This mascara does a great job of giving my lashes lots of volume and length, while still remaining fluttery and not too crunchy feeling. True to the rest of the line of UD Perversion products, this mascara is super black - it has to be one of the darkest black mascaras I own. I love the natural bristle wand it has as well, because some plastic wands can be difficult to work with. My only dislike about this mascara is that sometimes after wearing it for a long day, it can flake off a bit. But other than that, it's a fantastic formula!

I have a couple of base products that I couldn't get enough of last month too. First is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 30. I needed a new light moisturizer to wear under my makeup that had SPF in it, and I picked this one up on a whim. It has a really light texture and sinks into the skin really fast! It doesn't leave me too shiny or feeling oily, and makes a good base for makeup to go on top of. I also love that the bottle has a pump for easier application! The other base product I've loved is the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. In April I did a makeup swap with my friends Courtney and McKenna, and Courtney brought this primer because she no longer wanted it. As a fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation and setting powder, I thought I'd give the primer a try and I've really been liking it! I used it almost daily in May and it's kept my skin fairly matte throughout the day.

Another product I picked up during the Sephora sale in April is the infamous Beauty Blender. I've heard everyone and their mothers rave about this little pink sponge for years now, so I finally caved and decided to try it out. When I first tried it I wasn't sure how I felt about it. But, after using it daily for over a month now, it's safe to say I love this sponge! Since trying it, I haven't used anything else to apply my foundation or concealer and I've been loving the application I get. I still don't know if it's worth $26, since the Real Techniques sponge works just as well in my opinion and is around $6, but since I have the sponge I'm going to use it! If it's in your budget I'd suggest giving it a try, but if you'd like a more inexpensive option I'd still really recommend the Real Techniques sponge.

My last 2 favourites are both from MAC. One of the very few beauty purchases I made in May was when the new MAC Wash & Dry collection launched. I really couldn't resist the beautiful summery products and packaging. One of the items I picked up from the collection is the blush in Crisp Whites. It's a gorgeous satin peach shade, that gives the skin a beautiful peachy glow. I've already used this blush a ton and I know I will continue getting a lot of use out of it this summer! The last product I loved in May was the MAC Lipstick in Oxblood. This lipstick came out earlier this year in the MAC x Toledo collection. Oxblood is a rather misleading name for this lipstick, as it's a gorgeous peachy nude matte. This has been my go-to nude lipstick during May though because it pairs so well with so many different makeup looks.

What are some of your favourite products lately? Anything you'd recommend to me?
